The second play of the trilogy, The Libation Bearers, describes the story of the revenge. In the tragedy, the vital ancient Greek’s topics are addressed: politics, theology, and justice. The play ends with the victory of the killers – they rule Argos. Agamemnon sacrifices Iphigenia for the military victory in Trojan War. She takes revenge on him for the murder of her daughter, Iphigenia. The king returns from the Trojan War, and gets murdered by his wife Clytemnestra, and her lover Aegisthus. The first play of the trilogy is devoted to the tragic story of Agamemnon. This work is his last and only piece that has survived to his day.
